Zanzibar island sits just off mainland Tanzania in the Indian Ocean and can be reached by air or sea. It is a popular destination as it offers a mix of beautiful white sand beaches and world class diving sites, due to the surrounding coral reefs. It has a largely Arab influence and is steeped in history centred on the slave trade.
Stone Town’s narrow winding streets and tall buildings with intricately carved doors evoke an exotic atmosphere.
It is also known as the ‘spice island’ as it is a major producer of spices such as Cloves and Nutmeg. It is a great place to relax and unwind.
